MB, I'll be expecting a PM in my mailbox.

For the record for those who choose not to remove certain terms from their posts:
"According to the American and English Encyclopedia of Law, a libel is a malicious defamation expressed either by writing or printing or by signs, pictures, effigies or the like; tending to blacken the memory of one who is dead, or to impeach the honesty, integrity, virtue or reputation, or to publish the natural or alleged defects of one who is alive, thereby exposing him to public hatred, contempt, ridicule or obloquy; or to cause him to be avoided or shunned or to injure him in his office, business or occupation."
False allegations, or suggestions about illegal activity would fall under that definition.
"Uh, well, the producers are pretty sure that she's going to be since they sent out a special announcement newsletter to everyone on the mailing list..."
I just got an e-mail from her and she said that she is not sure yet. here is the e-mail
Kathryn,
I've given it a lot of thought but, I'm not sure if I'll be doing it. I don't really think that I'm going to have much time for it, but, I'm still thinking. So I'm not sure yet.
Love,
Idina

Jerseyboylover, you're really a member of the in-crowd! Emails from that one guy's girlfriend, Idina. Color me impressed.
Sounds like Idina's holdin out for more cash! Good for her. Get the green for The Green.
I have my sources, I really did not think that she would write me back but she did.

Thank you for your legal research, YWIW. However, there seems to be only person who could be blamed for the potential "blackening" of any person's reputation in this thread: the one who started rumors without clarifying for his own, or other people's benefits, not a couple people who merely inquired as to the details of what that person implied. To say "I know such-and-such happened" is different than innocently asking, "could you clarify such-and-such?" Furthermore, saying "I know so-and-so uses this-or-that" is different still, and were actual terms used in such a statement, THEN it would be libel. And that last part didn't happen at all.

well, its the front page story on playbill online with a picture and everything!! so..it seems she is done thinking about it! at least i hope so! how exciting to do it in London.
i don't care if idina and kristin didn't get along..why does it matter. they turned out wonderful, professional performances and thats really all anyone should be concerned with.
POPULAR..i undertood your post!
As a brit in London who received the cast recording from Amazon this week (haven't stopped playing it) - and have booked tickets for September - I'm very pleased we're going to see Miss Menzel's performance!
Let her put her stamp on it on both sides of the pond before moving on guys!
*Shakes head*
Read what you posted in response to the very ambiguous reference to hobbies.
I am sorry MB is not giving you the information you want. This is clearly so very important to you.
Now lets get back on message. Idina going to London - wow!

It was a question, nothing more, nothing less.
It's apparently important to *you* to "make something out of nothing." (Mark Cohen, "RENT." tee hee). You should be barking up MB's tree, not mine.
Yes, Wow, very excited for Idina! And may she have no conflicts of any kind with her co-stars in London!
Yes, of course, you are right.
MB did open up this can of worms by using the term hobbies. All you did was raise the issue of illegal conduct.
Me, I perfer not to have posts that imply or insinuate illegal conduct, especially when there is no evidence to support the insinuation.
Silly lawyer that I am.

back onto topic, I have an odd feeling that they might wait to record until idina's engagement concludes. I also can forsee kristy cates turning up in london, since she has up to now played elphaba in every post broadway production (b'way u/s, the tour in toronto, full time in chicago). I could settle for a recording of her, and frankly no matter who's on it perhaps this time they'll keep in the "its not her....ITS MEEEE" part of defying gravity which i always thought was a pointless cut
I think the intention is for a British actress to take over after Menzel leaves.
They must be paying her so much money for her to have said yes to this.
I can't help but be delighted by this. Absolutely, positively delighted deep down in my little Idina loving heart.
Here I am. I am the FANGIRL! Attack me!
And a limited engagement is both simple and smart.
As a Brit who loves Idina and 'Wicked' (but isn't a teenage teenybopper who'll wear red tracksuits and act all obnoxiously ^_^), I'm kinda mixed about this news.
I'm VERY happy I'll get to see her in action! I saw 'Wicked' on Broadway once - 9th Januray 2005. -_- So it'll be awesome to finally get to see Idina as Elphie!
But on the flip side, I'm kinda disappointed I don't get to see someone completely new, as they were fairly determined they were going to seek out new British talent for the roles. But Broadway actors have come over to reprise their roles in British openings before, and it is only for a few months, so if I *really* want to see a new Elphie, then there's always my birthday. :3
As for the whole "Idina said she might not do it..." thing, I'm thinking there's VERY little room for doubt here. It's been announced on this site, Playbill.com, Broadway.com, Wickedthemusical.co.uk, hell, even our national newspapers are singing it out. If there was any chance it wasn't all definitely confirmed, I really don't think they'd be spreading the news with such gay abandon.
Why couldn't my brother study in London NEXT semester instead of last semester. We would have gone to visit him and seen a show! I had to sit through Mamma Mia! Not my idea of entertainment!

Of course the one time I decide to leave BWW to see a movie, big news like this is released. O well Silent Hill was worth it

>>Me, I perfer not to have posts that imply or insinuate illegal conduct, especially when there is no evidence to support the insinuation.
Exactly. To ask a question about drug use does not imply anything, especially when the context clearly stated an inquiry based on no prior knowledge, and clearly requesting to be enlightened of the instigator's (MB) intent and reasoning behind *his* opening the aforementioned can of worms. Merely asking questions about drugs or any other subject is a question. Saying the word 'drugs' is not illegal. In fact, it's a free country here in the U.S., so talking about 'drugs' in vague terms isn't illegal at all. It's only illegal if you take them. And if you're caught. And for that matter, IF--I said IF--MB meant that in his post but didn't say it, not all drugs are illegal anyway so no post on this thread implies any illegal conduct. Plus, I"m not the only person who brought it up as a question (as opposed to an implication).
For the record, I'm an Idina fan, and can't imagine either one of them taking up 'hobbies'--illegal or not, offstage, but I'm a nobody and do not know. And hope it's not true. But then again, stranger things have happened. It's showbiz, and MB could have meant anything by 'hobbies'. he could have meant underwater basketweaving; women have fought over more petty things than that. He could enlighten us but he's probably enjoying the nonsense on this thread way too much and is staying out of it. As am I, as of now. Happy Friday everyone!

Is there a reason I found that hysterical?
lovepuppy- I love your signiture! I did that play this summer and I was the white queen!

Hey Sweet:
Thanks! You found it hysterical probably because...it was meant to be funny. While espousing the myriad ways something can be perceived, including the most mundane. Thanks for being entertained, and I'm glad to be the entertainer for the moment!
Congrats on your Alice role...I've never seen the play but saw the quote on a magnet so I bought it and it's on my fridge. :)
