SWEEEEET! I was hoping people would be all upset. Good. Obviously I am not serious as I really don't care that much, I saw Wicked only one time and enjoyed it-barely. I do actually think "Brooklyn in the Blood" is a cool slogan though...

Seriously, I don't like comparing actors or actresses. They're not better, they're different.

Ok I saw Idina and Eden in Wicked the same day and Idina is much better. When I saw Wicked for my 2nd time Idina got sick so she had to change her notes during Defying Gravity and then after intermission Eden finished up the role. I have to say after that night, even though Idina was sick she still sounded better than Eden. I'm not saying Eden has a bad voice believe me I was awestruck when she hit that last note on B ON B. But I guess I just Idina's style of voice better

I didnt notice any gasping the first time I saw Wicked, except for the big finish of Defying Gravity, which is understandable. I heard ALOT of it the second time...it was *almost* distracting at some points. But I've heard her sing a bunch of other times and it hasnt been as defined...oh well, chalk it up to a bad day.
Re: Eden. I prefer Idina's voice, though Eden's is amazingggg as well.
I thought that fit in with the words. i thought she was supposed to be excited.
I heard Idina was really shy, I dont think she's a bad person or w/e

There is really no reason to compare the two. I saw Eden in the role last month and she defintely makes Elphaba her own and her DG is nearly flawless. She doesn't try to copy Idina's performance and I appreciated that.
Idina has a huge, amazing voice and not so wonderful breathing technique. She's also a strong actress and I loved her in the role.
No need for lists or anything. JMO.
And I hear that she can turn green at will now, too! She's the greatest!
Indina is one of the greatest actresess to hit broadway in a long time.

What Idina's doing in Defying Gravity is incredibly hard and if she needs more air so she can hit those notes, then gasp away! I've seen the show twice so far and haven't noticed anything than her powerful voice and amazing stage presence. I have both her solo albums and she certainly doesn't have trouble hitting the notes on those songs either.
