ElphabatheGood- have you ever performed in front of that many people? Not likely. Try it.. I am sure you would get a bit nervous too.

I adore Idina. I think she really puts so much emotion into her work, HOWEVER ... I know what you mean about the breathing. I didn't notice it the first 3X I saw the show, until my voice teacher pointed out the flawed technique, as a learning tool. Shes still amazing, don't get me wrong, but she seems to gasp a lot. Sometimes thats all I can focus on! But really that is some hard stuff to sing. Whatever can get you through 8 performances a week!
