Idina's Prime?

At what point, in Wicked would you say Idina was at her best. I saw her the week before the tonys and I dont know how she could be any better. I wonder if the hate mail thing towards the end showed on stage.

Who says blondes have more fun on the French Riviera?

hmm.well i saw it five times, and i would have to say she was the best over thanksgiving.

Hatemail thing? What hatemail thing? (I think I live under a rock...)

Also, at this age, Idina is, in general, in her prime, but it won't last for very much longer if she keeps *screaming*. Don't get me wrong, I think she's talented, but she's got to learn to better use what she's got. A lesson in subtlety, perhaps, would be suitable (and don't tell me that her rendition of 'I'm Not That Girl' is subtle).

I am listening to her sing Not A Day Goes By and she is screaming through the entire thing! I agree about her need for some subtlety. She needs to mix it up a bit.

The hatemail thing- she and Taye received hatemail letters threatening them physical harm for being an interracial couple. Some crazy guy...

I agree with CVAPB- def. between Halloween and mid. December.

I don't think she was anywhere near her best around the Tony's

The best time I saw Idina was in previews last year.. the worst was the last time i saw, her Dec. 29th.. she was also pretty good in Dec. of last year..

I thought she was PERFECT on Xmas day 2003....could have been because the hubby was in the show also.

The first time I saw her (November 2003)I believe, she was amazing. And then again in March or around there. But she seems to be losing her control over her pitch and such. Which is difficult, I'm sure. I could never do it, that's for sure. But I think her voice is tired now.

I think she is at her best when she is singing her own, quieter music. When she sings her "belt-out-to-the-roof" stuff, she sounds good, but I think it's beginning to take it's toll. Hopefully she's taking a breather right now (which she deserves), and will be amazing come the Rent movie! I'm sure she will be.

well.. luckily in Rent, her part calls for screaming. She will be amazing.
