The following people's heads would explode:
Hunter "This is meant to be positive!" Foster
Jennifer "Cuddles" Cody
Christopher "I've done bad TV!" Siebr
Meredith "I sell skin care products on the side!" Patterson
and
Natascia "It's just so hard but I am going to keep trying because it has to pay off for me eventually!" Diaz

"Revolutionary Road" is one of the worst films I have seen in years, and I am saying that as a HUGE Winslet fan and a big DiCaprio supporter.
That story isn't made for the screen or the stage. It's too thought-driven and loses everything without the written word.

I disagree completely with the comment above, and think the complete opposite.
I don't know about a stage adaptation though.
It would have to feature Thomas Newman's score!

Hated "Revolutionary Road", adored "The Reader." Obviously just a personal opinion.
I just felt that film went nowhere and took much too long to make its point- which, in retrospect, is much more powerful in other films. Too much fighting, too many "big" and "powerful" lines that became so muddled within the arguments and "elevated" chatter.

Revolutionary Road definitely sucks. Just more elitist rumblings from Sam Mendes.
That being said, I'd love to see either on the stage.

Hated both THE READER and REV ROAD, even though Kate Winslet is one of my three favorite actresses of her generation. And by the way, REV ROAD on stage would be as fun as watching paint dry.
Winslet would have made a brilliant Desiree in the NIGHT MUSIC revival (as much as I loved Catherine Zeta-Jones in the part). I'd love to see her in a new play or musical, him I'm not much interested in.

Posted: 6/28/10 at 1:08pmAs long as it's not Gypsy, Guys and Dolls, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, or Hamlet, since they're each revived every other Wednesday, I'd love to see them on Broadway.

"Or they could try Yeston's Titanic!" - LOL!!!
I still find "Revolutionary Road" a great piece for the two actors.

True Story...
I was waiting in the Rush line at the Lunt-Fontanne box office during Titanic previews. A woman came into the lobby, went to the box office window and asked ...
"Are Kate and Leonardo on tonight?"
I and the rest of us waiting in the Rush line burst into laughter for a good 10 min. Classic Moment...

Posted: 6/28/10 at 1:53pmShame Leo didnt get himself into some production of Streetcar somewhere, he's a Stanley waiting to happen. I think trying to get Sam Mendes to do something about anything to do with Kate it might be a little redundant now.

I think Leo would be great on Broadway-- his performances are sometimes a bit too broad for screen. I was never a fan of his until he stopped doing pretty-boy roles and doing more interesting stuff like Blood Diamond, but I think he could be great.
Kate Winslet would be a good Desiree, but isn't she really young for the role?

Add me to the list of people who thought REV. ROAD was insufferably boring.

I thought I would find REVOLUTIONARY ROAD boring, but I don't know, I rather liked it.
What about, in a few years when they're both a little older, MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN?

Why not in 2017 they reunite once again for the revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? edit: I'm half-kidding
As far as Leo doing the stage somehow unless Martin Scorsese is involved he probably will not be game. Not a big fan of his work. Too much Oscar bait now compared to his early, pre-Titanic years. Love, Kate, however.
RR was an uncomfortable film-watching experience of two likable actors playing two unlikeable characters getting most of the screen time and not enough crazy Michael Shannon who was the best part of the film.

No way. Crazy Michael Shannon was the worst part of an already awful film.
Michael Fassbender on Broadway though? I bet we can agree on that!
