Can she sing? Does she have the poise and grace of a born star like Julie Andrews? I don't think anyone does and if I were to make a list of those who might come close, Charlie's Angel wouldn't be on it.
I really don't ever want to see this remade in general. The original is such a beautiful classic. What is there to change, reimagine or fix?

Posted: 11/28/05 at 9:57pmI know I've read opinions saying she's a better actress than everyone thinks she is, but still. This is crazzzzzzzy.

Posted: 11/28/05 at 10:05pmI'm probably as appalled as everyone else, but I believe this just shows how humble, relaxed, and good-natured Dame Julie Andrews is. This movie should never be remade though, it's probably one of the best movie musicals of all times.

Posted: 11/28/05 at 10:29pmEven if she is a talented actress, she is not at all right for the part! Maybe I have just never seen her in a part close to this, but still...

Please no no no.

Posted: 11/28/05 at 10:32pmI am going to hope this was a momentary lapse of insansity...or that she is so clever this suggestion is a subtle way of saying there is no point in EVER trying to remake it because Julie cannot be replaced and it would be a joke.

"humble, relaxed and good-natured"
Sounds more like "senile" to me.

I'm also thinking that maybe Julie Andrews has gotten to know Cameron Diaz and is her friend...and is just really relaxed and thinks it would be cool. Or she thinks it would be hilarious!
I'm not promoting Cameron for the role, but I can't imagine Dame Julie Andrews saying something so silly without a good reason.

I will fight to the death to defend my Lady Andrews' honor. If she doth think Cameron Diaz is a good pick then thou shalt nod thine heads in agreement! Wenches!
Anywaaaaays, I think Diaz would have a great smile for the part.

Julie, I thought you were crazy when you said how wonderful the Broadway musical version of "VictorVictoria" was and even boycotted the ceremony which would give you your first Tony, but this proves you have truly gone insane.
