If/Then No Idina

Ticketmaster has 3 performances listed as "If/Then (Idina Menzel not appearing) on 9/30, 10/1, and 10/2. Interesting that they putting this info out. If anyone wants to see Jackie this looks like your best bet.

As much as I like Jackie, I really hope Jenn Colella gets to do the role! It probably won't happen, but, as mentioned in other If/Then threads, she'd sing the sh!t out of that score!

I really want it to happen as well. I'd almost rather see Jenn. Don't get me wrong, I love Idina but I think it would me one if those magical theatrical moments I would talk about forever. Plus I just really want her to get a chance. Maybe it will happen like Legally Blonde. They will let her go on once just cause. That's what happened with Annaleigh Ashford. She covered Elle and got to go on one time during its broadway run.

TDF has about 20 dates for this show. Hoping that those dates will pop up. I want to see the show without Idina.

The idea of a star deliberately stepping out to let an understudy perform at the expense of paying customers is infuriating. The Broadway economy is bad enough as it is, and the idea of lowering the level of service provided to the only people who are going to keep it alive is frustrating! I don't know if it's true, but apparently Alice Ripley did a similar thing to let an understudy perform with their husband in NEXT TO NORMAL?

I suppose it's different if they are swapping and understudy with an understudy (if that was the idea here).

Who said she was stepping out on purpose?

As I already stated, there are around 20 dates on TDF for If/Then, that does not look good for them. And those are all date Idina will be in the show.

The post is in response to a hypothetical situation proposed by gleek4114. I don't believe in reality the producers would actually ever let it happen for IF/THEN.

Hoping it wont be as loud.
or as boring, or maybe I missed something the first time around, doubtful, but worth a shot.

Besides, if they cannot sell tickets with out Idina, it might end up on the site not to be named for $5.

I'll see just about anything for $5.

Jackie Burns was on last night.

I was in the orchestra - so don't know how many seats in the mezz were empty, but it wasn't a huge section of people missing in the orchestra last night.
