It should be a one-man show starring Scott Baio called "Chachi Loves Joni."
Bad joke, and I appologize in advance.

Posted: 3/3/06 at 3:16pmWell John Kelly does a brilliant one person Joni Mitchell show that even Mitchell herself has raved about. Perhaps that'll move for a commercial run one of these days.

Even though he started at Wigstock, John Kelly has done his show commercially many many times, at The Fez in NYC, and other theaters in NY, I believe, as well all over the country. He's done several different versions with different setlists and show names.

From up and down, and still somehow
It’s cloud illusions I recall
I really don’t know clouds at all"
god i'd love it!

Posted: 3/6/06 at 2:37pmI'm well aware that John Kelly has done his show hundreds of times around the country and that he has various versions of it (I've been personally acquainted with John for roughly 15 years now). My thought was about him doing an open-ended 8 show a week run perhaps at an off-Broadway commercial venue, something he's never done here before. I think there's enough of an audience out there to support a multi-month run and it would help to broaden his appeal and raise his profile.

Not to be attacking, but it's not really anyone's business how someone is personally acquainted with someone else. Many many people know John Kelly, either as friends, professionally, or through community.
Margo, I agree, I wish John would do an open-ended run. He's remarkable.

I love Blue:
Blue, songs are like tattoos
You know I've been to sea before
Crown and anchor me
Or let me sail away
Blue, here is a song for you
Ink of a pin
Underneathh the skin
An empty space to fill in
