They should wait till April then bring along Drew Sarich. He did Dracula in Germany and form what I heard, did pretty well. He also is an American and is an astounding performer. I saw Drew Sarich should be brought onto the CD if the Barbour situation doesn't work out.
They wouldn't pay to record it again with an even more unknown lead.
Unless they just redid his vocals but it ain't happening in any event

I don't see why they can't release the cd anyways. The whole thing makes me bitter.
I think the decision not to release was made before Barbour's troubles
If Wildhorn had to rethink it (knowing what he knows now ) he would have either not done one ( ala Civil War) or did an original cast album. All he did was spend a lot of money & he has nothing to show for it

Well that makes more sense then. The idea of not releasing the CD because of his "troubles" is stupid, it has no reflection on them.
To my knowledge, Dracula was scheduled to release prior to the Barbour incident. In fact there was talk of a double release with J&H Ressurection and Dracula because of a distribution deal they were working on for both for an international campaign, as I understood this.
Visit the Globalvision site as there's lots of discussion about all of this.

As I said, it was on hold prior to his problems. His problems were, pardon the pun, the final nail in the coffin. I doubt it will ever come out
just the opposite Roxy, Dracula was put on hold when Barbour sit. came about. Up to that point both CD's were in the making for a double release.
I than stand corrected
Do you at least share my feeling that this, along with Lestat, will never be released ?
Jeremy has not offered any information about Dracula except that it is on a back burner for now. They really can't get into too much other than that.

Not sure why they would do all the work to record it and then just shelve the project. I'm sure there's a market for it out there. I don't understand how all that works.
The feeling is probably why throw good money after bad. The market for cast albums is limited. One on a 2 or 3 year old flop is even more limited.
Do not get me wrong . I want it to be released but have accepted the fact it probably will not be

POSTER:"It would have been much simplier to say that the CD was recorded, and we hope that it will be released, instead of giving date after date after date."
Jeremy Roberts:"Yes, you're correct. We were misled by one of our distribution partners... which then started a chain reaction... That's why we pulled the date, and we won't declare another date until everyone and everything is in place.
Additionally, NOBODY could anticipate that one of our stars would get in trouble... since we don't know what's happening in this situation, it's better to pull it for now, then once things are clear, to move forward."
In other words, they were supposedly misled by somebody, so they pulled the date, then one of their leads may have done something illegal, which apparantly takes all the pressure off, and gives them an excuse to bail entirely. How convenient.
I'll say what I've always said about this. It was a scab recording, they screwed the Broadway cast, and maybe there's something to karma after all. I sincerely hope this recording never sees the light of day.

Just imagine how the original cast must feel.....

Didn't they just finally release Capeman on iTunes? Maybe they should do something like that if there's not a market for a traditional release. If the recording is finished the cost must be next to nothing.
And what's going on with the Barbour situation anyway? Is there a date for a trial or something? It's a shame to see his career (and the jobs of those working with him) held back when he hasn't been found guilty of anything.

The CD was recorded. Barbour is BEYOND fantastic as Dracula, though.
I loved Tom Hewitt, but then you hear Barbour.
The recording is a slap in the face (artisticly*) to the Broadway production. But, of course, one has nothing to do with the other.
*I don't mean whether or not you think the show is good.

If Barbour's legal troubles are getting in the way of this being released, that's ridicuous. Most people don't know and don't care about Barbour's arrest. Besides, he's released and already working again.
