If youd seen the London production of Batboy you would have wished it had never moved from off Broadway!! totally blown out of proportion in a huge house like the Shaftesbury Theatre. It was great in its original home.

While I wish the Morosco, the old Helen Hayes, and the Bijoux were still around instead of that monster of a theater, the Marquis (hence the Drowsey Chaperone joke)
I thought that the Marquis was built where the Morosco once stood. They say the Morosco theatre in Drowsy Chaperone not the Bjoux.

All three theaters were torn down to make room for the Marriot and the Marquis.
They probably just used only the Morosco in order to streamline the joke (besides, we all know the "K" sound is funnier).
I'm with smaxie - I hope the Belasco is next to be restored. Thanks for the info about the Hudson. I did not know about that.

The Hudson, unfortunately has no backstage and very little dressing room space.
But the front of house is lovely.

Posted: 8/11/07 at 9:20pmIt's one of my favorite shows but I doubt it would still be running. Although it had recouped shortly before it closed, it was doing poorly at the box office, only bringing in about $300,000 a week.

Posted: 8/11/07 at 9:27pmI don't know if it would still be running, probably not, but I think it would have run far longer than it did- at least a year. Its one of my all time favorite shows, and if it were running today I'd be one happy person, but I don't think it would be the case, sadly.

Posted: 8/12/07 at 1:49amYeah. I remember the article saying that the revival was opening there and Alan Cummings was reprising his role, but I wasn't usre when the starting date was. Was it this season or next season? I'm guessing it's not until next, but that seems so far in advance to plan things.

The Hudson is a gorgeous theatre and is very easy to get into to have a look around.
The Mark Hellinger is the sleeping beauty of Broadway. I melt everytime i see inside that building.

CABARET will not be at the Henry Miller.
When the Roundabout bought Studio 54 and re-did the orchestra they put in a system where the rows of seats in the orchestra could be easily removed in order to restore the old tables and chairs if a show called for that type of seating.
Thus, CABARET will almost definitely be back at Studio 54.

The Roundabout Theatre Company may revive its 1998 Tony-winning revival of John Kander and Fred Ebb's Cabaret at Studio 54.
The New York Post reports that the nonprofit theatre company will likely present the Sam Mendes-Rob Marshall production following its upcoming staging of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George at Studio 54.
