I don't live within a reasonable distance to New York, so I can't purchase my tickets at the box office. Trying to save money and was wondering if I ordered my tickets over the phone rather than online, could I dodge those blasted handling fees? Forgive my ignorance.
Nope. You'll pay fees.
Yes, you are still charged. The only way to avoid it is at the box office.
Short answer is yes: it is actually usually more expensive
If you don't want to be ripped off by booking fees, go to the box office, most BroadwAy shows, you don't have to book in advance.
