If you were on American Idol...not auditioning for a show...which classic broadway song would you choose? I for one would choose one of these classics, all be it, some are over done: Try to Remember from the Fantastiks, Some Enchanted Evening, from South Pacific, Whatever Lola Wants, from Damn Yankees, Luck Be A Lady, from Guys and Dolls, and just to shock the hell out of some of them and do something fun...

Sporkie...that's awesome!!! I love it!!! Or perhaps to sing 'If you were gay' or even more fun 'Everyone's a little bit racist' What can I say...each Idol contestant should do a song from Avenue Q. My personal anthem, 'It sucks to be me,' is on that album.

I'd sing "Little Lamb" from Gypsy.

Yeah, I know we couldn't sing a modern day broadway song, but then again...that's why 'it sucks to be me' LOL. Anyway, great songs. I keep waiting for Ave Q tickets to go on sale for a date after Sep 3, cause I wanna see it when I am in NY. If I did a modern song, I'd do:
Memory-Cats LOL JUST KIDDING
but, cliche as it is, I might do The Wizard and I or Defying Gravity from Wicked,
I go to Rio from Boy from Oz
Contact from Rent would be fun, but anything from Rent would be fun...I'll Cover You would be awesome!
Of course, anything from Ave Q
But it's a dream, no modern stuff!

b/c the point of idol is to get the vote of the american public - i would pick something from a rock/pop kind of show - like rent, brooklyn, tommy, wicked even
my top choice would be "only he" from starlight express b/c i love it, it shows range, and it's a pop-like ballad
