I think she's charming. Denis is VERY funny.
(You just KNOW he lypsinced 'Hey, Big Spender' in the bathroom mirror when he was a teen queen. Like so many of us ;-D)

I'm really excited for this show and know that if done right it could be amazing! The clip just got me really excited for the show and I'm sure after tryouts and everything it should be ready to go by the time it hits Broadway!

I'm hoping to see it in June when I go for my annual NYC trip!

I think Christina sounds wonderful, yes she's a little low, but hopefully she can work on that. This is ONLY REHERSALS! Things can change a lot after rehersals and tryouts, so lets wait til it's staged to start judging!

Eh, her character isn't meant to be a Reno Sweeney - vocally. I agree that she's charming and I think her stage presence, as I stated earlier, is FABULOUS. And near the end of the Brass Band sample, she seems so genuine too. Wish I could see this :-/ Oh, and in the elevator sequence when Applegate says that one line, she reminded me of Zellwegger (sp?) in Chicago.

as someone stated earlier, i dont think we should judge the whole show based on a 6 minute clip, but i think cilento's choreography is awesome. i think everyone misses Fosse. thats why you guys are being so critical. cilento wanted to stray away from that. and if a choreographer can stray away from choreography that is so closely identified with that show, he should be applauded, not torn down. applegate was incredible. she didnt look like she tried really hard, it looked like she worked really hard.congrats 2 everybody on the sweet charity team.

Hmmmmm....just saw the press preview/rehearsal video.

1. Applegate definitely LOOKS like a Charity Hope Valentine. Moments of warmth came through in the "Brass Band" snippet.

2. Cilento has big job ahead of him -- re-choreographing a signature work of one of the Masters.

That being said -- from the video, it looks like a college production. I think the jury is out on this one.
