You're right in that her voice isn't very strong, but hopefully she'll build it up as rehearsals continue.

I have tickets, too, and am looking forward to the show. I know a lot of people were worried about the choreography, but it doesn't look so bad based on this rehearsal. The dancing is great.

I think that Applegate is the least of what's wrong with that clip. Cilento's choreography once again, looks like some bad rehashing of any Janet Jackson video from the 90's much like it did in Aida.

Well I wish Christina Applegate all the best. I think she'll do fine and I'm rooting for her. I read an article about Neil Simon's wife - I think she will be her biggest problem!
She is really sweet in person too, by the way. She came into a coffee shop that I was working in a few years ago and you couldn't even tell it was her. She wasn't dressed fancy or trying to be noticed...in otherwords, she didn't carry herself as if she was hot stuff. She looked familiar but it was only after she handed me her credit card to pay that I put it all together. She was very classy and nice.

Anyway, through this video, I am even more excited for this. Christina looks like she is going to be dynamite. Her voice might be a little low at the moment, but I'm sure she's just warming up. i was worried there would be too much hype and christina (who I LOVE) might fall victim to scathing reviews. who knew she could do all this! and she has a hot husband!

MusicalComedyMan, you totally missed the boat when it came to Walter Bobbie's comments about Cristina and Bebe Neuwirth. He wasn't comparing Cristina's talent versus Bebe's talent. What he was doing was pointing out how easy it is for people to stereotype performers.

LOVE the clip. The worst Christina can be in this show is decent. And the way it sounds, she'll be far from it. REALLY looking forward to this show. Hope though some choreography gets changed. It looks like it has potential but Cilento needs to understand that in addition to doing your own thing you have to make sure it blends with the material. that solo dancer in "I'm a Big Brass Band" reminded me of the ribbon guy from Wicked. Which, even though you can tell I'm a fan of the show, isn't a good comment.

Not sure whaT to say. I don't think the role needs a terribly strong singer, as Gwen Verdon wasn't ever a powerhouse vocally, but Applegate needs to build up the confidence and belt it out a little bit more. I think she's scared about something...she's not really seeming to let loose.
I'm not terribly excited about the show based on this...I hope Christina pulls it off.

Most people on this board are SO f*cking critical. This is why I can't stand this place sometimes.
