In summary:
Duncan Stewart will join RWS Entertainment Group to form ARC. RWS, the owner of Binder Casting, will dissolve Binder with the formation of this new company, following the death of founder Jay Binder a year ago. ARC, which will be based in New York and London, will cast theater, film, television and commercial projects. Stewart — with casting directors and associates from the Stewart/Whitley and Binder teams — will continue to maintain casting needs for Broadway’s “Life of Pi,” “The Lion King” and “Chicago,” as well as for Radio City’s “Christmas Spectacular” and other productions.
Benton Whitley has announced the formation of Whitley Theatrical, which will focus on both Casting and Producing. Current Whitley Theatrical projects include Goddess, How To Dance In Ohio, Wild, Cowboy Bob, Evita (ART and Shakespeare Theatre), and reimagined revivals of Inherit The Wind (dir. Neil Pepe) and Same Time Next Year (dir. Rachel Chavkin).
Binder casting director Chad Eric Murnane has launched the boutique casting office Murnane Casting. Murnane will continue working with some of his current clients. The agency will be based in New York City, and include theater, film and television projects, with a specialization in Broadway productions, regional theater, and developing new works with up-and-coming creators.
