Even the original London production was very gritty, unlike the camp and colurful production thats there now
Oh and Richard Gere played Danny in the London Production

I still really want to hear if anyone has heard a recording from the initial Chicago production...

I used the essay that was posted when I directed the show this winter, it was a huge help.
I did the show with 75 teens, and they got a kick out of learning how dirty the show really was. Plus, it gave them all a big thrill when I was like "ok guys, that's was a little too original cast for our show!"
