Inspiring Broadway lyrics

Posted: 6/21/05 at 7:15pmI'm trying to get a collection of "inspiring" broadway lyrics. Something along the lines of A Chorus Line "I Hope I Get it" or Thoroughly Modern Millie "Not for the Life of Me". I have a friend who's graduating and she loves broadway, so I wanna use some inspiring lyrics on a gift I'm making for her. Got any suggestions?

To add to My Fair Lady- "Sometimes people leave you halfway through the wood. Do not let it grieve you, no one leaves for good. You are not alone. No one is alone."

"Each moment opens like a flower.
The age of miracles comes
Every hour on the hour.
Turn any corner,
There's something new
And nothing is too wonderful
To be true." -DRS
"I am what I am
I am my own special creation.
So come take a look,
Give me the hook or the ovation.
It's my world that I want to take a little pride in,
My world, and it's not a place I have to hide in.
Life's not worth a damn,
'Til you can say, "Hey world, I am what I am."" -LA CAGE
"We can do it, we can do it
We can make our dreams come true
Everything you've ever wanted
Is just waiting to be had" -PRODUCERS

"Take wing fly to glory,
Dance, sing tell your story,
You bring to those you've known,
Take flight, take wing"
~Say Goodbye To The Freak Show from SideShow~
"I will not be the girl,
Stuck at home in the burbs,
With the baby, the dog, and the garden of herbs,
I will not be the girl,
In the senseible shoes,
Pushing burgers, and beer nuts, and missign the cues
I will not be the girl,
Who gets asked how it feels,
To be trotting along at the geniuses heels
I will not be the girl,
Who requires a man to get by"
~ Climbing Uphill from The Last 5 Years~

I love that you mention Side Show. Brings back sweet memories.
Rodgers & Hammerstein have plenty of inspiring songs. Look to them.

Posted: 6/22/05 at 3:44amCall me crazy, but if you get part the apparent campiness of Spamalot, I think "Find your Grail" inspirational, atleast it has the potential to be. When I saw it at the tony awards I had a different impression of it than I did when I listened to the CD.
