Awhile ago I was watching Oprah and this woman (I forget her name) had this really amazing inspiring story about how when she was little her parents took her to see Annie and she realized musical theatre was her passion so she just moved to NY and went to auditions and ended up playing Christine in POTO. I wonder, did she have any training or was she just born a good singer?? Cause that is soooo not fair. I mean I'm happy for her and all but she never had to be ensemble or do regional theater or anything! Unless I missed some of it... did anyone else see this?

How the hell are we supposed to know if she was born a good singer if we don't even know her name? Even if we did know her name none of us were there when she was born- so how would we know?!
Some people got it and make it pay
Some people can't even give it away...........
You either have it
Or you haven't.

I was just wondering if anyone saw this episode or knew who she was- it said she played the role for 10 straight years on Broadway, that's something people might know her for. I wasn't asking if anyone actually knew if she was a good singer at birth, I was just commenting at how she never had to do any real work.

I did not see it, but it sounds interesting.
I honestly do not think she would be given Christine in POTO if she was a bad singer. Some people are just born with that talent. No one said show business was far.
Diva: I thought Rose said "You either have it/Or you've had it" as in "you can't take it anymore."
I know that episode. I saw it too.
I believe it was Sandra Joseph

Mmm K!

Yes, it was Sandra Joseph.
It was Sandra Joseph. It was a nice little segment, but a little heavy on the Oprah worship (I know Sandra has referred to Oprah in the past as "My lord and savior Oprah Winfrey"). Then again, most of Oprah's shows these days are a little heavy in that area...
About playing Christine for "10 years straight on Broadway"--that might have been a little inaccurate. Sandra Joseph did play Christine for about that long, but I'm quite sure those years weren't all on Broadway. That said, my God, how long was she actually at the Majestic? If I'm not mistaken, she ended her run with the most performances of any Broadway Christine.

You say potato
And I say **** you....
Let's call the whole thing off, bitch!
Sandra had breaks and periods of time off. She possibly did play it for eight years straight(just a guess).

that's pretty cool. I am jealous though = ) LOL
Does anybody know where Sandra has been? I know she was working on a book and a one woman show, but her website hasn't been updated.
