Hi Gang,

I was not sure if Orchestra row DD seats 1-7 were full view so I called the box office. I was told that seats 9 and 11 are partial view. What is interesting to me is how can 7 be full and 9 be partial. It just seems logical that the person in seat 7 would miss something. Also, I was told that the stage is not to high. However I was advised not to sit there if you are very short. Anyone ever sit in these seats that can shed some light on the subject.

Thanks everybody!

hey there...i don't know if this helps..but i sat third row with partial viewing and it was fine! the blocking is so downstage that it shouldn't matter..you may miss some of the backdrops in the show.,..but you won't miss any action! hope i helped somewhat!

I sat in partial view my first time, like in the 2nd row, and i could see fine, but some of the set was in the way sometimes

"Let the little girl go, and that poor little dog? Dodo." That's my favorite line in the whole show (Wicked). My next favorite line is "Oh! It seems the artichoke is steamed."

The same thing happened to me, I wasn't sure about the theater seating either and I sat one seat over from partial view seating, it was dumb that i just didnt get the partial view, but i could see everything.

I personally haven't sat in the partial view seats at the Gershwin, but I know people who have, and you should be fine. You may have to sit up at some parts, but as pjsings said, pretty much everything is downstage or in the middle of the stage, so it really shouldn't matter.

There's gotta be a line somewhere.

I agree WickedGeek28...

There's nothing logical about it, seat 7 is full view while seat 9 and 11 are partial view. If you go across the row eventually you are going to get to the point where the view goes from full to partial...

I searched a couple of times on here before posting (because I know that's what you all prefer!)...

I just got a ticket for A14. I remember when I saw the show (almost 2 years ago) there were a few rows before A, right? The "seating chart" on ticketmaster is of no help at all. What letter does it start with? I'm something like 4th or 6th row or something, right? I really didn't have much of a choice as to the side of the house for that day, so is house right where I am sitting ok as opposed to house left? Thanks all!

Personally, I much prefer right over left for Wicked :)

A is the 5th row - I use this seating plan: http://www.nytheatre.com/nytheatre/chartweb/plan_ger.htm
