International: ELISABETH coming to DVD

I got the new Sound Of Music update in my email today, and it had quite the bombshell as the lead article: A DVD of the Vienna Revival Cast of ELISABETH is coming out in December to coincide with the show's final performance at the Theatre an der Wien. According to the VBW website (musicalvienna.at), it will be code free, with German audio in 2.0 and 5.1, and (drumroll please) ENGLISH SUBTITLES! The price is pretty nice, too, so I hope that all the other Elisabeth fans will join in preordering this.

Now if only we could get releases of Tanz der Vampire, Barbarella, etc...

I also heard the news today. It is fantastic.

And I hope Barbarella will be rekeased on dvd too!

Elisabeth is such an amazing show. It is so funny to me to see the quality difference of shows across the world. I would encourage anyone to buy this DVD, the production is great, and will give an accurate representation of musical theatre at its best....OR go see it in Stuttgart; the production is different in terms of its design, but it's still mind-blowing! There are so many musicals that are open, opening, or have opened in Europe, that deserve a Broadway transfer! I'm definitely buying....YAY!
