Interesting article. I hadn't considered that despite starring as Angel in Rent and as the culture guy on Queer Eye, he still felt insecure about his sexual orientation. This is oddly refreshing news for me...
Too bad the person doing the interview didn't ask him if he had been approached by Chris Columbus about reprising his role as Angel for the Rent movie.

I love Jai!! He was so great as Angel and Zanna, and I hope he does more (not to mention I love Queer Eye). I HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE he got approached for the RENT movie.

His run ends on the 14th, but I wouldnt be surprised if he makes repeated returns to the show.
I am seeing him in it tomorrow. Ill post on my thoughts. Interested to see the new Maureen too.

Posted: 8/8/04 at 1:51pmThanks to everyone who posted such nice comments about my ''Leading Men'' interview with Jai Rodriguez at Playbill.com. He was a delight to chat with. As you might imagine, we ran out of time and didn't get to all the questions on my list. That included whether he'd been approached about re-creating the role of Angel for the movie of ''Rent.'' So far, the publicist for ''Rent'' says she hasn't heard a word about it, but if I hear anything, I'll report it. Thanks again for reading!

I just did an online chat w/ him through the Rent website earlier today. He is so sweet! i tried twice to ask about the Rent movie, but questions had to go through a modrator and they didn't post mine 
Oh well, we'll hopefully know soon enough.
