Interesting article. I hadn't considered that despite starring as Angel in Rent and as the culture guy on Queer Eye, he still felt insecure about his sexual orientation. This is oddly refreshing news for me...

Too bad the person doing the interview didn't ask him if he had been approached by Chris Columbus about reprising his role as Angel for the Rent movie.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that article. He is such a great guy! I want to see him in more broadway roles.

I love Jai!! He was so great as Angel and Zanna, and I hope he does more (not to mention I love Queer Eye). I HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE he got approached for the RENT movie.

Oh man, it would be AWESOME if he got approached for the Rent movie. I've heard such great things about his Angel, and he's such a cutie, too! Does anyone know when he leaves Rent?

I'm not sure when he is leaving but I think he is coming back later in the year.

His run ends on the 14th, but I wouldnt be surprised if he makes repeated returns to the show.

I am seeing him in it tomorrow. Ill post on my thoughts. Interested to see the new Maureen too.

Wow, I thought this thread was lost forever. So, are we agreed that Jai will likely be one stage actor who transfers well to the screen?

I'd certainly agree with you Evelyn. I really hope he is in the film.

That is such an adorable interview! I love the question on who he would make over!! That was incredibly cute...and he can join the crazy Adam Pascal appreciation thread now lol!

Thanks to everyone who posted such nice comments about my ''Leading Men'' interview with Jai Rodriguez at Playbill.com. He was a delight to chat with. As you might imagine, we ran out of time and didn't get to all the questions on my list. That included whether he'd been approached about re-creating the role of Angel for the movie of ''Rent.'' So far, the publicist for ''Rent'' says she hasn't heard a word about it, but if I hear anything, I'll report it. Thanks again for reading!

I just did an online chat w/ him through the Rent website earlier today. He is so sweet! i tried twice to ask about the Rent movie, but questions had to go through a modrator and they didn't post mine

Oh well, we'll hopefully know soon enough.
