Was there a cast recording done? How different was this show? I've seen pics and wowzers... Most important how was Amy Adams and Donna Murphy?? God I would love to hear them sing the big numbers from that show...

There's a bunch of information/reviews in there. You can also watch the Regents Park production online in its entirety: https://www.digitaltheatre.com/production/details/into-the-woods/cast

Try to catch the production of INTO THE WOODS at the McCarter Theatre before it closes. The FIASCO THEATER does a superb job, stripped down, sensational storytelling and wonderful performances. Like seeing a classic Shakespearean troupe taking on a terrific musical.

Seeing it on closing night was one of the most magical theatrical experiences I had in 2012. Opinions were mixed but I loved it. I loved the set, I love the new framing device, I loved almost all of the performances (especially Donna, Sarah Stiles, Jessie Mueller, and Amy, girl power?). Really a great time.

There are a lot of recordings floating around Tumblr and the internet in general, none official.

Loved this show and the staging. Was there opening night and Sondheim was a row in front of us. Totally magical night.

The production had a rough start, with weather problems messing up the outdoor rehearsal schedule. I saw an early preview and it was an underrehearsed mess. Saw it again later in the run and it was magical. Much of the mixed reactions depends on when in the run the show was seen. I loved the concept, and thought the entire cast was terrific.

But who am I to say? Broadway legend Morgan James saw the first preview and thought it was the end of musical theater as we know it. #horrified
