Into the Woods' Danielle Ferland

She was always one of my favorites in the show. What's she up to now?

Wasn't she in "A Year with Frog and Toad" on Broadway a few years back?

I'm not sure what she's up to as of now but she was in the "Summer of '42" reading with Rachel York two summers ago. Very sweet person. We had a long conversation about what she was invovled in at the time and her dream to star in a Merrily We Roll Along Revival.

Does anybody know how old she was when she was Little Red?

I saw the original production of Into the Woods when it was still in previews, and Danielle's performance still stands out in my memory. She was fantastic.

Her bio says she was born in '71, so around 16.

My guy friend has the dvd, too and he loves it. It's like his bible! He watches it all the time. My high school might be doing a production of "Into the Woods" this summer. I'm a senior this year and I really wanna get in. At the current moment, I am in "Little Shop of Horrors" as Crystal. My teacher, the one who might be doing "ITW" already type casted me as Little Red.

Does anyone have a link that goes to a full biography for her?

re: Into the Woods' Danielle Ferland

I second what Dottie said. I saw the original production twice and Danielle was a treat. The whole cast was state-of-the-art, and it was great fun to see someone so young "get" Sondheim and seem totally the equal to all those seasoned pros.

"AND Cassandra in Mighty Aphrodite"

I love that movie, especially Danielle Ferland's line:

She was also great in "A Little Night Music" back in the early 90s.

re: Into the Woods' Danielle Ferland

Didn't I read something here a few weeks ago about her having (unofficially) all but directed that A Little Night Music production? and she was 16 at the time?

Scott Ellis directed it, so your statement is probably not far from the truth.

I remember reading one critic saying that Regina Resnick's performance of Madame Armfeldt was the first time he had been able to understand the lyrics to "Liaisons".
