YAY! Just as I'm typing this, "Into the Woods" just started playing on Broadway World radio.
still mourning my not seeing the shortlived 2002 revival

Not that this means it is bad, but it is a Youth Theatre Company...

Theater Mania gave great reviews from their last seasons musical: The Wiz.
It's a youth production, but not a "school musical"
There's a difference.

Ooh, that's a short run. If I can get out of school I'll try to make it, though.
the 1st show i fell in love with!
Is this the same theatre space that BARE performed in?
Bare played at Dodger Stages.
I want to be in that show more than anything! If anyone finds out about upcoming auditions for Little Red Riding Hood ANYWHERE, tell me.
No, BARE never played at Dodgers Stages. That was the problem.
I saw BARE at the American Theatre of Actors, but I believe the ATA has two stages. BARE played on the second floor (up this really creepy staircase); is that where ITW is playing?
Okay, I feel stupid. Well, I'll beg my mom to let me see this. Why can't I be Little Red Riding Hood?

Yeah, I came across Into The Woods yesterday when I was looking for tickets for "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change". I was on the phone with my mom (because she is buying the tickets) and I saw that and started flipping out-and my mom said, "No, Parks-we're not seeing Into The Woods." She's never even seen the show. She won't even give it a try. *tear*
My mom and I had to see my sister's high school production twice so there's no way she'll let me see this.

BlueWizard- Yes, that is the theater with the very old broken elevator shaft. (staircase)

actually, i think for this particular show, a good youth production can be even more effective than with regular age actors and actresses in their respective parts. i think it solidifies the themes even more. although i loathe the junior version (who would have the gall to just lop off all of act 2, really now), sondheim himself did cry when he saw it performed by a group of dc youth at the kennedy center's celebration of him. he said "now this is theatre."

apdarcey- This version has both acts ( I know that there are many junior high schools that only do act 1)
You should check it out.
