nyspotlight, I take it ugga-wugga-whatever was gibberish. When I was a kid, I assumed it was Native American chant or something. I recently watched PETER PAN (with Mary Martin) and I had to cringe during this number.
Dollypop, you know what else bugs me in MY FAIR LADY? During "I'm An Ordinary Man" Higgins sings "I'd be equally as willing for a dentist to be drilling than to ever let a woman in my life." It should be "than ever to let a woman in my life." I suppose it would hurt the music to alter it, but nevertheless it annoys me to no end!
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia

Plus, shouldn't "than" be "as"?

In the more recent productions of PETER PAN, the "ugga-wugga meatball" line is cut and the phrase "brave, noble warriors" has replaced "brave, noble redskins".
Thank you very much.
