Overkill, I wasn't looking for a fight, apologies for coming off that way. I was just responding - a bit perplexed why a downplay of her performance would include the tomboy thing, since that's often been a part of her appeal (from the very beginning of her first Broadway role) through to Pennywise, though she has obviously played against that type many times.
Anyway, I did see the whole performance of Urinetown and I can't say how the online videos stack up to the live show but in the theater she WAS funny and she DID win over the audience. I think they liked and responded to her more than any other element, and you should've seen the enthusiasm during her curtain call.
Is she funny in general, though? Hmmm. She seems to have a natural comedic timing *in interviews* I have seen i.e. like she is fun to be around IRL. I am not sure that always translates to the stage for her and for many other performers.
By the way, I can't wait for her to play Diana and I always thought that if the show lasted on Broadway, Andrea would have been the perfect replacement!
I do want her to have her acclaimed starring role as an adult ON BROADWAY. I think it could happen. B**ch is still kicking! : )
