re: Is Bare Dead??? :-(

I'll always be a fan of the 'first' (said in hope that its not the last) NY production of BARE. I want to see how it will grow and improve. I'm looking forward to more news. I hope the site stays up for a while too....

Actually..bway guy, A local community theater in my area is doing BARE. Apparently, the leader of the company personally knew the person who wrote it. I'm really excited. One of my friends is going to be in it re: Is Bare Dead??? :-( Of course that doesn't compare to BARE on Broadway. I was really dissapointed when I found out..

Yes, the ATA run of BARE was pretty special. What a spectacular cast!

When Seth hosted Kitchen Sink not too long ago he mentioned the show still having a chance of coming to life. But as always it was a sortve vague side comment.

As far as actors moving on to other projects, if youre doing a show and waiting on the possibility of something else that you want to do, you can always try to get that kind of 'out' written into your contract. im not suggesting that they did this, I have no idea what their specific contracts are. IF they are emotionally attached to the show and wanting to partake again if it comes to life, they *might* have asked for this type of thing in their contract. and it would still depend on the creative team of bare wanting them back.

re: Is Bare Dead??? :-(

Actually the money that is needed is much less than a million dollars, and the theatre is being held for the show. The Immigrant was in Theatre 4, which is where Altar Boyz is going. BARE would have played Theatre 1. There are rumors that some money may be coming through for a spring run, obviously actors like Jenna and Kaitlin have more lucrative gigs now so some recasting would have to be done. I think the show is far from dead, however.
