I know that this is just a matter of opinion. But, I was browsing the TodayTix app and a majority of the shows on there are things that I have seen. I saw that Elf is up there for tonight, and wanted to know what people think. Is it worth seeing or not really?

I saw the show in Boston and while the material is good the production itself wasn't the best in my opinion

The material is mediocre, particularly the score.
But it's diverting and colorful.
If you've seen most of what's available and don't have a favorite that you would like to revisit, you could do worse.

I saw the Equity tour last year. One of the worst musicals I've ever seen. Glad at least the cast was great.

I only saw it in it's first incarnation. It was a pleasant diversion for the holidays. The show depends on who is playing Buddy the Elf, really. The problem I would have with the show is that is is in the Theatre at Madison Square Garden which is a huge vast space. If you aren't sitting close to the stage then it isn't worth buying a ticket. The back section of the theatre is too far away for a show. I sat back there for the Cirque show that played a couple of years. Parents bring kids who get bored because they are too far from what's going on so they talk and get antsy. Not a fun way to see a show, IMO.

I saw it at the Hirschfeld a while back and it was cringe-inducingly bad. Left at intermission with no regrets.
