What's that supposed to mean?

I mean literally, the show's going to kill him. Rumor is he's NEVER missed a performance...sounds like he needs a break.

Casting is starting to look for a replacement, giving an estimated start date of May. Of course, he could always sign on for longer...

The May date represents the opening of the Toronto company. Hairspray, like many shows regularly hold auditions to build a talent pool of replacements if and when needed. Just because there's an audition, it doesn't mean someone is leaving the show.

When a show gets as big as Hairspray, you need a HUGE talent base to pull from. There'll be 3 major companies open in less than 6 months.

Just think about Lion King or Beauty and The Beast. They have soooooo many productions, I can't imagine how big of a talent pool they have now. Updated On: 1/15/04 at 01:58 PM
