No. Hugh Jackman can act. HC, Jr is *not* an actor. He's got a beautiful voice, but all you see on stage is HC, Jr.

Hugh Jackman on the other hand is a better actor than singer. And he is able to transform into a character.

The debate continues...
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher

To Broadwaybaby2, you are about to incur the wrath of the angry mob led by myself, one of Hugh's biggest fans! Have you ever seen Hugh onstage? I saw both Hugh in Boy from Oz and Harry in
The Pajama Game, and there is no comparison. Harry certainly has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard, but his
acting in the role was mediocre at best. There is no way that Harry would surpass Hugh in terms of overall talent, stage presence and incredible charm. Harry was noticibly uncomfortable on stage, especially during dance numbers and even during the curtain calls. Hugh is completely at home on stage and his performance was one of the best I've seen on Broadway. To compare the two is ridiculous in any case.

I love them BOTH so much! I really did enjoy Harry's performance....not to take away from Hugh...but I am going to say that if Harry keeps on rollin' the way he is...there could be MANY more wonderful performances from him if the right roles come his way.

Harry Connick, Jr. is the next Harry Connick, Jr. It's apples and oranges. Nobody would compare Hugh Jackman to Nathan Lane, although they have so much in common (wonderful singers, can dance, great smile, drop-dead funny, huge appeal, big star). Let's give Harry giant props for taking the lead in a Broadway musical and making the show a sold-out success and hope he graces the Broadway stage with more performances. Maybe his acting will improve as he gets more comfortable.

Remember, Hugh had years of stagework behind him before he hit Broadway. Who knows, he may have been very stiff in his first gigs half a world away, just like Harry....

No way!!! Hugh Jackman has stage background & it shows. He just has so much appeal to audiences. I hope he does a play someday to show some real acting talent.

Harry Connick, Jr is a wonderful musician & singer. The musical piece they inserted for him in Pajama Game was the highlight of the show for me. As stated above, he probably needs some more stage experience.

You mean is he the only masculine straight guy that can and is willing to sing in a broadway show? I have always detested they way Jackman has been used to sort of "straighten" up Broadway. I'm still amazed people fell for that one. I wonder how all the queens feel about that. Harry is awesome though, he is exactly where he belongs.
