Okay, I'm not sure if this warrants its own post, but I'm new to the boards and I just wanted to see other's responses. So I'm fairly new to the theatre scene, and I recently saw my first show this past week (Anastasia, so you can probably tell my taste in musicals). I'm interested in seeing Hello Dolly, since I've loved listening to the cast recording, and the new cast is fantastic. I don't really care if I see it with Bette or not, and going on a Tuesday with Donna would be the most affordable option. Just wondering if you saw it, how did you like it? I want to sit in the mezz, where are the best (and most affordable) places to sit? Thanks in advance.

Yes it's definitely worth it to see it. I've sat in the mezzanine and I think the most affordable rows are maybe D-G. No front mezzanine premium prices but still one of the best places to see the show as you see the dancing patterns in front of the passerellle.

That's great to hear. Can you see Gavin and Taylor at Vandergelder's store, as well as the eating scene?

Before April, I had never seen Hello, Dolly!, neither the stage nor the film version, but I've seen this production 2 more times since then. I absolutely love it! The last time I saw it was with Donna, and I sat in a perfect seat in the front row of the center mezzanine. I used a discount code to get the ticket for $99. Go to telechargeoffers.com, and enter the promotional code HDBOX522. Do yourself a favor, and go!
Here's a pic I took from my seat when I saw it with Donna:

You're quite welcome. I just did some investigating, and, if you want front row center mezzanine, you'll have to wait until September, unless you can go this Sunday, 7/30, when Donna is also performing. There are 4 seats available there for $99, using that code. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

You are literally so helpful with this, I'll check out the seats for this Sunday. Thanks again!

Also, I just realized that this Sunday is a 2-show day. Bette performs at 2:00, Donna performs at 7:30.

See it with Donna Murphy in the front mezzanine. It's a perfect location with a great cast. Enjoy!!!

If you go to a Donna performance there tends to be an abundance of tickets at the Box Office and TKTS. You might be able to snag a good Orchestra seat on the cheap. As far back as Row L, Center Orch, or first three seats on either side are PRIME. Extreme on the sides, not as desirable.

What area of the orch would be better than the first row of the Mezz, if any?

Both can be great. The difference being how important is it for you to see their faces closer up? A friend sat in the mezz for Bette, and then in the Orchestra with me for Donna in Row L and she said she preferred Orchestra, especially seeing David Hyde Pierce's expressions up closer. But your mileage, as they say, may vary.

Like Sally said, it depends on who you ask. I'm short, so, for me, there's nothing like the front row of the mezzanine, with not a single head in my way. The first time I saw the show I sat in the orchestra, and I know there are a lot of great seats down there, but I always worry that a tall person will be sitting in front of me. I'd rather go with the sure thing.

I prefer sitting in the mezz, just because to me dancing looks better and I don't need to arch my neck up to sometimes see. But the Orchestra seems great too, I just don't want to be too close to the stage. Tickets there are much more expensive even on Donna days as well. Honestly I would like to see facial expressions, and I think the mezz is fine.

I second everything CT2NYC said. I vouch that the front row mezz view was incredible. Close enough to see expressions clearly and able to see the dancing, sets, etc. perfectly. I also echo the sentiment of being short. haha ![]()
Also my first exposure of any kind to Hello Dolly and saw it with Donna Murphy. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend. $99 price point for that kind of seat is a no brainer to me.

I HIGHLY recommend Donna, if you don't mind seeing Bette!! Donna is fantastic!! I got a ticket from the box office for a Donna performance. It was orchestra row k for $47. As others have mentioned, check todaytix and tkts, the tickets are as low as $39!! The show is absolutely incredible, you should see it!!

I'm so glad this thread was started because last night I was looking for single seats for a Sunday matinee performance in any of the coming months. For Bette, there are some center mezzanine seats in the $200 range, in row F, G, H, and further back. Are those good seats - should I attempt those?
(If these are obstructed view, or partial view, would that be disclosed when you're picking your tickets, or at the time of check-out)?
Also, for Donna Sunday matinees, there are 'somewhat front' orchestra seats and not too expensive at this point. I don't mind seeing Donna, but if the mezzanine are good for Bette - I'll grab those.
As always - thank you in advance!

If you see non-premium bette seats, grab them while you can.
Donna Murphy I'd also see but her tickets are easier to get through a variety of discount venues.

For this Sunday evening performance with Donna (7/30 at 7:30), telechargeoffer.com has front row seats for $109. Just $10 more if you prefer the orchestra over the mezzanine.

Is there a specific code used to get these seats, or can I just use the aforementioned HDBOX522 one instead? Thanks

Just go to telechargeoffers.com and click on the Hello Dolly! - Discount Tickets link. This link find tickets for Donna Murphy's next performance which is 7/30. There's still plenty of tickets left in the orchestra. Even front row center.
