I will be in New York in the last week of January 2018 (attending BroadwayCon). I would also love to see as many shows as possible. I only have tickets for Dear Evan Hansen, but would like to also see Waitress, Anastasia, Hello Dolly and Hamilton (will try cancellation line). I was wondering if in January, it may be easier to get rush tickets, cancellation line, and other discounted tickets. I have also found out that it will be Broadway Week from January 16 - Feb 4, so some shows will be 2 for the price of 1. I assume these will be the less popular shows. Anyone know how easy it is to get good Broadway week tickets?

Well considering that Sara was just announced to return to Waitress with Mraz and she'll be in it by then, Waitress may be a bit harder to come by. I can't remember when the Dolly cast changes happen, but if they're in place by then, it might be easier for Dolly. Anastasia, I can't imagine would be too difficult. I won't even speak on Hamilton, I've never tried to get tickets to it in any way, so I can't speak to that at all.

Yes, a lot of shows close in January.  Hotels are at their cheapest and it’s cold as H@ll in the city.  Jan and Feb are good times to get to get cheap tickets to shows...if they’re still open.

I highly recommend Hello Dolly! with Bernadette Peters and Victor Garber. The duo take over the lead roles in January. The sets, costumes, and orchestrations are all top drawer.

Waitress, Anastasia, Hello Dolly and Hamilton... I can break it down...

It all depends on your budget, of course, but it's going to be hard not to splurge with those, save for Anastasia, where I don't think you will have a problem getting to the box office at 9, if you want to play it safe, get there at 8 on a two show day, and you should get a ticket np, as they give both out at 10.

Waitress get up early, bring coffee and a comfortable chair, and def. read the boards from the week before to get a grasp on timing.

Hello Dolly will be the first week of Bernadette, making this extra challenging for you. I think we may be looking at 4 am, or earlier, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Hamilton, oh Hamilton, this may be easier then the two before it. If you get the Anastasia tickets for the matinee, run and hop into the Hamilton cancellation line, you should get tickets pretty easy, albeit at $225. If you don't get Anastasia for the matinee, which is unlikely that you won't, then go Hamilton and scout the line, if there are less then 10, get in line, on any given day,

Hope I helped

I highly doubt that people will be lining up at 4am for Bernadette. That week is nowhere near sold out. If you’re worried about securing tickets to Dolly, you can use a discount code to get $40 seats in the balcony.
