I have Hamilton tix for a Monday evening show and LMM is my main reason for going. The posters have no names on them so how would I figure out if he's an above title star just in case he's out? Then I could get a refund for different date. Thanks

By tradition, shows at the Public (or in the park) list all cast in alphabetical order in the same font.
When those shows transfer to Broadway, that protocol is not followed and stars are listed above the rest of the cast (often in multiple ranks) and sometimes above the title.
At his point there is no way to tell how Miranda will be credited, or whether it will be above the title. (If I had to guess, I would say Miranda and Odom on one line, followed by 2 or 3 tiers.)
So no one can answer your question at this point.
The other problem is that, even if a refund or exchange is available, your options for seeing the show in 2015 will be severely limited.
Word is that the understudy is as good as or better than Miranda. I would not think for a moment about not seeing this masterpiece with or without its creator.

Will they put Miranda over the title if he going to use an alternate again?

He has never had an alternate. Whether he goes above the title is a decision for the producers that the rest of us will know when someone sees the playbill, a bit over a month from now.

I've already seen it at Public. I'm taking my dad and we want Lin. My dad lived in NYC his whole life and I only met him 12 years ago, he'd never been to a bway show. We went to "In the Heights". So, it has to be Lin. As far as waiting it out for an alternate date, we live close enough. My tickets are for late August, so I'm hoping since that is within a couple weeks of opening night, he won't take off.

I would say you should be safe, absent something unusual. Assuming he is not above the title, I nonetheless think you'll be able to sell the tickets in a New York minute even without Miranda in the show.

I think the Javi going on once a week thing was only for the rest of the Public Run, as they were still supposedly making tweaks for Broadway, so barring some type of illness, etc. you're probably good. Of course all of this is speculation and none of us here can now.
Having said said all that...wait date are your tickets for? I can be on standby to buy them from you if Lin does wind up being out. Just need to know the date in advance so I can be around.
