The show will be running; much of the cast will likely be new.  That's my take.  Guesswork.

The Tony nominations for the current season will be out, so that might make it easier to choose shows, if you are wanting to be excited on Tony night. Fun Home, unless a big drop inn sales happens, will still be running and it looks like the main adults will be staying, Sydney is leaving and I'm guessing the other kids won't be in it too much longer. Hope you figure everything out and have great theatre-going experiences!

Any time is a good time to see a show, but May should be lovely.  NYC will be warming up.  Don't know much about Fun Home's casting.  Michael Cerveris just extended.  Don't know how long he's staying though.  The show is wonderful and I'm sure they'll cast very talented people.  So yes, theatre in May and see FH.

It's May! It's May!
The lusty month of May!
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.
It's here, It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear!
It's May! It's May!
That gorgeous holiday
When ev'ry maiden prays that her lad
Will be a cad!
It's mad! It's gay!
A libelous display!
Those dreary vows that ev'ryone takes,
Ev'ryone breaks.
Ev'ryone makes divine mistakes
The lusty month of May!
Whence this fragrance wafting through the air?
What sweet feelings does its scent transmute?
Whence this perfume floating ev'rywhere?
Don't you know it's that dear forbidden fruit!
Tra la la la la! That dear forbidden fruit!
Tra la la la la!
GUENEVERE & CHORUS:
Tra la la la la [etc.]
GUENEVERE:
Tra la! It's May!
The lusty month of May!
That darling month when ev'ryone throws
Self-control away.
It's time to do
A wretched thing or two,
And try to make each precious day
One you'll always rue!
It's May! It's May!
The month of "yes you may,"
The time for ev'ry frivolous whim,
Proper or "im."
It's wild! It's gay!
Depraved in every way
The birds and bees with all of their vast
Amorous past
Gaze at the human race aghast,
The lusty month of May.
CHORUS:
Tra la! It's May!
The lusty month of May!
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.
Tra la! It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear.
It's May! It's May!
The month of great dismay.

May is my favorite time to visit. Broadway-wise, it's the best. It's Tony season when voters will be seeing the shows, so everything should be open and, barring extreme illness, everybody should be on. In other considerations, the weather should be lovely, the crowds aren't too bad. As a matter of fact, our next visit will be after a crossing in mid-May.

FUN HOME should certainly be running, but I suspect it will be with a new cast. I'm a huge Michael Cerveris fan, but I've heard great things about the replacements in the cast. When we saw it a couple of weeks ago, the U/S was in for Middle Alison and did a great job. It seems the company has a (good) family atmosphere that makes me hopeful for the replacements. (I'm certain also that there will be discount codes)

Personally, as for next season's shows, I just jumped on tickets for SHUFFLE ALONG and SHE LOVES ME. (We just saw HAMILTON - there should still be some seats available for May - I'd jump on anything decent ASAP). Not that you asked, but I'm interested in hearing word from the upcoming ON YOUR FEET!, MISERY, ALLEGIANCE, and SCHOOL OF ROCK shows. (Personally not all that interested in FIDDLER or COLOR PURPLE and will see about DAMES AT SEA)
