It's a featured. And I STILL think Linzi Hateley should have hopped the pond...the girl needs back on Broadway (And I personally enjoy her to Luker).
Due to the fact that no cast member in MARY POPPINS is billed above the title, they will all be considered Featured unless Disney petitions to have any of them considered Leading.
The Tony Committee has unofficially stopped this tradition. Producers can still of course submit an actor for one catagory over the other, but the nominators now make their own decision on who is leading and who is supporting; they no longer use the "above the title" rule.

I think Ashley and Gavin will definitely be put in leading category.
Just as a question, what is the deal with the kids? Could the Tonys pick one person for a nomination or is it not allowed since there are multiple sets?
I am wondering if "Mary Poppins" will get a choreo nod. It seems people are divided on it.
Absolutely Kelli O'Hara had just as much of a right to be Leading Actress... HOWEVER, the producers as well as everyone else knew Vicki would win, so why not rally behind Kelli in another category. One that she would actually have a chance at.... and possibly net another Tony for the show?

Why?
Because it's cooking the books to say a leading actor is just a featured one or vice versa.
It's not being honest with the theatre public when you are advertising an awards event like the Tonys and then screw around with the categories.
I am glad Kelli got her Tony nom, but I think it should have been as a lead.
It would be good if the categorization and nomination processes were broken away from the producers so that doesn't happen.
I don't care whether it would have been lead or featured, Kelli should have WON a tony. period.
