The guy can play the role, trust me. Not the best vocally, true, but he is better than most stunt casting. I speak from... expierience
And it's Vegas, not Broadway.

He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

I saw Paul play the Phantom in the all grown-up version of the show in Toronto a few years back.
I don't think He'd ever be my FAVORITE Phantom, but he was a pleasant surprise on the stage. Great emotion and you could certainly hear him. Vocally He was in and out, but for such a demanding role, He did something Gene Simmons could never do! HAHA!
Go see it so you can tell your friends you did!
:)

Holy crap, I forgot to make a point! This place is contagious!
The point was, he was good in the full version, I'm sure he can handle himself very well in the mini-version! I'd see it again if I was in the neighborhood. The sky is not falling!

I saw KISS live when I was in like the 7th grade. That is THE perfect concert for any 13 year-old boy. lol. Anyway, Paul flew out over the audience and played guitar on a platform that was like 10 feet away from me.
That doesn't really relate. It's just a story I enjoy sharing. haha.
You should have seen me in the 90's with hair down to my butt. I REALLY looked like him.

Having seen him in PHANTOM in Toronto, I have to say this is horrible news. I refuse to see him in it again, and having wanted to see the Vegas production for some time, am now going to have to be sure to avoid his performance dates.
He ruined the role, couldn't sing it to save his life. The Toronto production was my favorite (and consistently kept up to snuff by the production team), and when I saw Stanley (for free, mind you, and thank GOD for that!) it was the first time I didn't like what I saw on the Pantages stage.

The site says he is in talks to play the part, not that it is definite yet. If you want to see the Vegas version just make sure that is a performance with the alternate cast.
The Totonto version was great with the best Christine I've seen out of 17 viewings, Rebecca Caine.
Acrocksyo, with all due respect, have you actually SEEN Phantom-The Las Vegas Spectacular yet? If you had, you would not be using a "yawn" to describe it, or be saying it was ruined! I have seen the "original" Phantom 19 times in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, and have seen the Vegas Phantom 18 times. It is amazing! Unbelievably exciting! And the two actors who alternate as the Phantom, Anthony Crivello and Brent Barrett, are both exceptionally talented Broadway stars! Their voices and performances are phenomenal! I have seen clips of Paul Stanley's past Phantom performance, and from what I've seen, he is not even in the same league with them. Updated On: 3/15/08 at 04:31 AM
I think that if he wasn't famous, people wouldn't let him get away with singing like that in the show. People were very unforgiving with Gerry's singing in the movie, don't forget.
But I have to agree that it's Phantom in Vegas. What did you expect?
