Hi,
I'll be seeing "Violet" on Saturday evening and I'm SO EXCITED! I'd love to meet Sutton, but I'm not sure if she is still coming out and greeting fans. So my question is (for anyone who may know the answer) does Sutton do stage door and if she does which door does she leave from, 42nd or 43rd?
I went in April on a Wednesday night. She came out on 43rd street, and her car was by the door. She was gracious and kind and signed for everyone and took pictures. Lovely lady!
I had the exact same experience as gstrus2, only it was in May.
Two weeks ago she came out of the 43rd St door, but had her dog in her hands, so said she couldn't sign. She was very gracious, and stood and spoke for a bit, but then got in her car.
From Instagram it appears that she goes away Sunday evening until the show on Tuesday, so I assume that's why she rushed off!

I went on a Saturday night in May and she came out at 43rd and signed for everyone.
I was there this past Saturday and she came out the 43rd st exit. She signed for everyone, but did not take pictures. She was very kind and gracious. Also, Joshua Henry came out that exit and signed for everyone.

For a moment I wondered if someone was reviving "Stage Door."
Okay, so I'm going to the 43rd Street door, what is the quickest way to get over there? Do I just have to hurry around the block or is there an exit in the theatre?

@ekline1 - doors let out to 43rd street
i saw violet last night and went to the 43rd street stage door after reading Sutton comes out there. to my surprise, it was PACKED. no barricades, everyone was just told by the security guard to line up along the wall. people were b*tching that people were standing in front of them and i heard people threatening to "knock people over" to get to sutton. how immature and annoying, not to mention rude and inappropriate. anyway...joshua henry came out first then sutton. she signed for everyone but did not take any photos. Before she came out, the security guard had told us she wouldn't be taking photos. Disappointed by that but, oh well. she was very kind.

Really? That's weird my friend went earlier this week and got a picture. Maybe she does it based on her mood?
Oh I guess I'll find out unless anyone has been to a Saturday evening performance recently. Either way I'm SO EXCITED!
A friend met her and got a picture with her after the matinee today! (Sunday)

I'm with TheOtherOne. I was imagining Sutton Foster saying "The calla lilies are in bloom again."

Maybe the lack of pictures depends on the size of the crowd and the behavior. Back in June, I walked past the line and she was taking pictures. The line was very organized and the people in it very behaved. No shoving or pushing from what I observed.
Transalores-- I'm going to the final performance also and was wondering the same thing too! When I saw the final performance of FIRST DATE all of the actors came out of the stage door. They all kept thanking everyone for the fan dedication and were extremely generous, I think that it's pretty common but who knows.
Anybody else on here stage door on a closing night?

I did for Bridges. Everyone came out of the stage door.
Saw Violet last night from the front row - great show, and Sutton is perfect for the part! Didn't go to stage door (never do anyway).....
