Does anyone know if The Fantasticks student rush policy has changed recently? i am thinking of going with my friends this saturday. Last I remember it was I believe two per ID for 33 bucks and you were able to buy them in advance. I went to Talkinbroadway to double check and see if they were doing it but it doesn't list The Fantasticks as an off Broadway show that is offering Student Rush.
Yes, they should still have it, it's 36.50 though, not 33.

I saw the show again this week and it's in better shape now than it was a while back. The cast is excellent!
Especially Dollypop's BFF, Nick.
I agree, I saw this same cast and it was brilliant!
I had goosebumps the entire show.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that an off broadway show has rush for over 35, while most broadway shows have discount ticket options for 25 or less?

Yeah, I was surprised at first, but I paid it, and the seat was perfect and the show was amazing. It was definitely worth it.

It does seem a little step since the top ticket price is $76, so $36.50 is roughly half-price. Not as good of a studeal deal for other shows, but $36.50 is still a bargain to see a quality show.
I will eventually see this show. I just never have enough time when I am in NYC...
Well, the thing is that their student rush tends to be sold out, so they realized the show is on demand, but they still want to give a certain discount to students, so Im greatful they do, but yes, when I got my tix, I thought "It's almost 40 bucks" but once the show started I never thought about money again. The Fantasticks is priceless, a fabulous classic.

Is it really in hot demand? I went on a Wednesday evening and granted it was rainy out, the theater was maybe roughly 30% full. It was kind of sad, but the cast gave it their all and I enjoyed myself. I keep meaning to pick up this cast recording.
The recording is fantastic! =)
When I went to see it, it wasn't sold out, but almost, yet, I tried to get rush tix twice and they were sold out.
The show is comped all the time. They're never close to selling out. It costs next to nothing to run, though. So it'll probably be inhabiting that theatre for a while.
Hi guys,
Saw the thread and wanted to take a moment to post the correct info...
Student tix for The Fantasticks are $30 (plus $1.50 facility fee), not $36.50. You can purchase up to 2 per ID, and unlike most other shows you can buy them in advance of the day you want to attend -- and you won't be stuck in the rafters since, well, there are no rafters :)
Thanks, hope this info is helpful.
To get student rush tix in advance, can you do it through the phone or do you have to go to the box office? I live in Jersey and I really want to see it, but I'm worried rush will be sold out if I just try to get it the day of the performance.
