...people ask you to take pictures for them at the stage door of them and the cast? I'm stage dooring alone for the first time ever, for two shows. I probably don't want more than two pictures per show, but I don't want to be rude or annoying at the stage door and ask someone to take a picture for me.
Not at all!
Just be like, "Hey, can I trouble you for a second, maybe snap a picture of me with (insert name here)?" Oftentimes, the folks waiting with you are super-nice!
Best,
- Mike
I've NEVER had a rude experience doing that. If anything, most people need the same favor returned. So find ya a photo buddy and you guys can just swap cameras!

I have followed your NYC_or_Bust's whenever I can. I have however come up with a better solution recently.
In June, I bought a new Canon camera with a flip-out screen. I can now take perfectly lined up pictures when I have no one to partner up with. It has worked out extremely well in tight quarters (such as at the Grease stage door), as I know it will at Cyrano in November.
If you ever see me at a stage door, I will be more than happy to shoot pictures for you.

No it isn't annoying. It's actually great when someone takes the time out to do something nice for someone else. Especially if you don't happen to know that person. I don't see a problem with this at all.
No ... as long as you so the same favor for them.. Most likely they are stage dooring for same reason as you

No, I do it all the time and I don't mind at all. I've also asked people do it for me and no one really seems to mind. As long as you don't ask someone who looks like they're in a rush you should be okay.
As I've said before...
"Is it annoying when" people start postings with coy, open-ended titles?
Not meaning to jump YOUR case specifically, but this was kind of an out-of-control trend this past summer, with lots of "Don't you hate..." and "I've always wondered..." titled postings.
I know people think it's an effective tease, but you just end up wasting readers' time with postings that hold zero interest for them, and you also may end up missing out on readers who are very interested.
Not at all. I'm always happy to do the favor for someone. I've only gotten one rude response from someone, which wa sa flat out "No."
Oh, and to step back from my being bitchy before and address your question-- if you're polite and not intrusive, it's no big deal. People are usually pretty nice.
Just make sure they seem like they can work a basic camera. I have some TERRIBLE pictures taken by some of the sweetest little old ladies you've ever met.

no i don't think people care, sometimes in touring shows when there are barely any stage doorers, i often have to ask other cast members to take pics for me and they don't seem to mind at all
I don't mind it as long as I too can get a pic of people. I figure some people are by themselves, or whatever. I even donate pens to other people.
