Is it wrong to visit NY and only see shows?- Page 3

The only thing that you might want to consider is....

If you are going to sight see the whole day and go to the museums....that's a lot of walking....

Will you still have energy for the 8 pm show?

that's gonna be very tiring.....

See as many shows as you can! BUT! Don't forget Lincoln Center, the Public, Off-B'way, and between all of the 'DRAMA' visit the restaurants and bars that make the City unique.

Of course there's nothing wrong! But, seeing we're on the broadway board at broadwayworld.com, I might be a little biased :)

Thanks to everyone for your advice. I have bitten the bullet and booked in 8 shows in 6 days. I also have an opening for a Saturday matinée and I am deciding what to see in this slot.

I did the ESB, TOTR, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, MOMA, Guggenheim and shopped til I dropped last year so I won't have to do those again this time.

That is just about all I do when I go to NYC. I've got a few of those trips coming up.

The thing about NY is you can see shows every night and still have plenty of time to do other stuff. I visited last March. Got in on Tuesday evening, saw a show, saw two shows on Wednesday, a show on Thursday, a show on Friday, two shows on Saturday, and two shows on Sunday, then flew home again Monday afternoon. I still had time to use all five tickets of my CityPass, head all the way downtown to check out the Brooklyn Bridge and the Bodies exhibition, do Top of the Rock, a Lincoln Centre tour, a nice stroll around Central Park, a lot of shopping, a lot of eating, and a lot of wandering around.

It's less easy in London, as we have Tuesday and Thursday matinees over here. But there's still Friday, I suppose...

I like to spend my days at the library at Lincoln Center watching shows from before my time on video. It's amazing the number of "theses" I've "written" over the years.

I think Brettystarr was asking a rhetorical question (hence "you're all right") and I'm surprised at the number of responses that have taken it literally.

My recomendation for something to do in New York that is beautiful and a little unexpected is the Frick Collection, which has Holbein's stunning portrait of Thomas More, amongst many other wonderful things.

Like Dollypop explains, art forms complement each other and it's great to take the opportunity to do something you wouldn't normally gravitate towards.
