Posted: 12/21/06 at 11:25pmYes, I went on a Saturday night needing three tickets and won three tickets. But there were still a lot of people there that were not so lucky. But that was a Saturday night. But if you mean next Wednesday, during the vacation, than no-you have a very small chance of winning.

Posted: 12/21/06 at 11:33pmThe next three weeks, NYC will be packed, so your chances will be slim. But if you miss out on the lottery try standing room.

Posted: 12/21/06 at 11:36pmWell not if you miss out on the lottery becaus eby then they'll be sold out. Just line up and buy Standing Room Only and then if you want you could play the lotto and sell the SR if you win. But the Standing is better anyway because it's full view.

Posted: 12/22/06 at 2:50pmThe lotto seats are often not so good seats on the ends. I did SRO because I didn't want to risk losing the lotto and not seeing the show and I had a fantastic view.

I finally won the ACL lotto tonight- fifth time's the charm. :) Lotto was pretty empty- don't know if it's because it's a Friday, because of the holiday, or because of the rain, but there were only like 35-40 people, and there was a lot of having to pick additional names because people whose friends had already been drawn were being drawn.

Posted: 12/22/06 at 11:35pmI'm just curious as to who played Connie tonight?? There's supposed to be a new asian actress playing Connie until Jan. 7.

The new Connie's name is Lisa Ho.
Which totally reminds me- before the show started tonight there was an announcement made that the role of Cassie would be played by Nadine Isenegger, and the audience totally started groaning and booing. I don't remember seeing an u/s board in the lobby (do they have one?), and there was no u/s insert in the Playbill, so the announcement was maybe the first time most people knew there'd be an u/s, but since when does an audience *boo* when an u/s is announced?? I mean am I missing that much by not having seen Charlotte d'Amboise?

the last time I saw ACL, Charlotte was out and so many people complained and asked for a refund or exchange. I actually think Nadine is a better Cassie than Charlotte. Her only weakness is her acting. I absolutely hate it when people think a show will suck because the lead is out.
And thanks for the info about Lisa Ho playing Connie!!

That's awful.
When I passed by the theatre (one of the nights that there were quite a few people out), there was a board up. It was sort of in the corner, and up very high.

Yeah they totally booed- I mean, not everyone of course, but there were pockets of the audience that were groaning or booing when the announcement was made, as if they were watching a ref make a bad call at a sporting event or something.
I thought Nadine was perfectly lovely (keeping in mind that I have never seen ACL before), and she did get a good applause after "The Music and the Mirror," but I totally felt so bad for her at the audience reaction (at the some of the audience's reaction) upon hearing her name before the show.

yep, I was there. there was no insert or posting because Charlotte was scheduled to perform. I don't know what happened between 7 and 8, but the announcement came as a surprise to everyone. it was overall a very enthusiastic and excited audience who were happy to be there and under the impression that there were no subs, so I can understand why they would be upset to find out at that point that the "lead" was missing. the groans of disappointment were inevitable cuz there was no advance notice (no one really booed), but I just wish it didn't have to happen. can u imagine being in the wings ready to perform a leading role, only to hear 1000 people voicing disappointment when your name is announced? in any case, Nadine was ready and had a very good show in spite of it all. The gal dances beautifully and her acting gets better and better every time.
as for refunds, don't bother at ACL. no name above the marquee, no refund.
btw, Lisa is doing a great job as CONNIE. and she learned that role fast!

Posted: 12/24/06 at 2:05amI saw the show Wed. evening and I think Charlotte was sick or something because after the Montage she left the stage and didn't come back until the end of "Dance Ten, Looks Three". At the stage door she had some tea and was nice enough to sign and take pictures but she wispered to someone that she was saving her voice. Also at the stage door, I overheard Lisa(the new Connie) say that she learned the role in about 5 days, or something close to that. She did a very good job in the role. What happened to the original?

It's not exactly clear what happened to Yuka Takara. The only thing we know is that she's badly injured and has been out since the beginning of Oct. Yuka's expected to return Jan. 9.
And if Charlotte was sick, I'm guessing The Music & The Mirror didn't sound too good. I really wish they'd let Jessica Lee Goldyn go on as Cassie one night.
