It wont happen, there is no point. Most of the Americans who love the show have purchased the UK cast recording already.

It also does not matter that its slightly different, so is the Footloose UK production and the only cast recording they sell at the show is the Broadway One, and thats the same with many others

Taboo got one because the shows producer was Rosie and the shows composer was Boy George and the media was enormous around the show

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

"I think the character is richly drawn"

I agree with that (unlike some of the posts elsewhere on this board) and intend to come over to see Billy when an American actress takes over as Mrs Wilkinson. I also agree that different interpretations of material can mean different things to different people, and hope to see Carol Shelley when I do come over.

I believe the actress signed to play Mrs. Wilkinson following Haydn Gwynne's departure is Kate Hennig. I am from Toronto Canada and Kate Hennig is kind of Canada's answer to Patti Lupone. In fact, she has played Momma Rose to great acclaim at several main venues here in Canada. I believe she will give an ace performance as Mrs. Wilkinson, very different than Ms Gwynne's. I have no idea how Kate snagged this plum role, unless she developed some contacts during a recent stint with the RSC in England, or perhaps gave a crackerjack audition that just could not be ignored. At any rate, good luck to Kate. We're proud of you!

I agree with Mamie. Carole Shelley broke my heart when she performed "We'd Go Dancing." She's my Grandma and I want a recording with her singing that song, so I can relive that special moment over and over again.
