This is such a dumb question, and I apologize in advance, but I'm not familiar with the etiquette for this type of thing.

I run a blog, and I'd like to feature, just occasionally, question and answer segments with actors. I have a specific actor I'd like to feature, even if this doesn't become a regular thing, but I have no idea if it's even in the realm of acceptable to mail a few questions to the theater, with a request to answer them, if I do it very politely

Can someone help? Like I said, it's a stupid question, but I just don't want to be rude.

No, it's not horrible to ask. it's not even slightly inappropriate as long as:
1. You are sure that you fully disclose that you are planning to publish their answers in your blog.
2. Provide a link TO your blog so they can determine for themselves if they want to be a part of it
3. Put no time constraints whatsoever on your request.
4. You don't bad mouth said actor should they choose not to respond.
5. Realize that it might take a long time before you hear back due to the personal response.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

You might also contact the show's publicist, which would be more professional than contacting the individually actor directly. It would make you seem less like a fan and more like a blogger.
