LEGS DIAMOND was actually a great show. The score, the cast, the sets and the costumes were all fabulous but the book just sucked and hard!

BIG DEAL had some great choreography (not Fosse's best) great cast and music but it too fell apart with the book.

Had to bring it back up, but Marshall totally reimagined Chicago for the screen in a way no musical has in the last 20 years. His production numbers were unique and exciting, and the concept for the entire movie is what made it work. He was originally being courted to direct RENT, and I would have loved to see what he did with it.

But personally I would have loved to see what some independent filmmaker would have done with RENT. Stay true to the feel of the material.
