The opening scene as to how they divide up the money is a classic.
The same cannot be said for the obvious stunt doubles and poor process photography.
Ethel Merman does steal the show as Milton Berle's mother in law from hell
The "definitive" edition is between 20 to 25 minutes shorter than the one that is shown on TCM . It is still a severely cut version from the original running time which was about 3 hours and 10 minutes or so.
IMBD lists the running time as 3 hours and 25 minutes. I believe that it includes entrance ,intermission & exit music.Bottom line is the criterion version is nowhere near the full version. It also says no one from the cast survives but than shows Barrie Chase's bio but does not show that she died.By the way, a previous poster listed Howard Da Silva as being in the movie . I did not remember him and checked IMBD. He is not listed there as being in the movie.
