Has anyone seen Jamaica at Harlem Rep?  Is it faithful to the '57 original?  Do they perform the score as heard on the OBC recording or are there interpolations from other Arlen scores?

Also, what is the running time?  I would like to see it on Sat., 11/11.

Any and all comments are greatly appreciated.

go with incredibly low expectations.

The score is the same as on the cast album. They have updated the show to current day which makes no sense what soever.

I was very excited to see this very rarely performed show. We left at intermission. There is a reason it is rarely performed. Without Lena Horne it has no reason to exist. The best word to describe it was tiresome.

That being said, there is some nice Jamaican/African Dance.  A good performance here and there, some nice voices here  and there but overall a real miss.  Better to fly to Jamaica or listen to old Lena Horne recordings.

Thanks for the "heads up".  Do you by chance recall the running time?
