Has anyone seen the new JCS tour with Eric Kunze? I'm seeing it this weekend and was wondering if anyone had thoughts, comments, good, bad, indifferent. I've only seen the 1973 film with the hippies driving around the desert in the magic bus.

Peace!!

Please tell us about it! It's coming to Toronto next month, and I need to decide whether I want to shelve out the 70 bucks for it.

Wow. If your only experience with JCS is the 1973 film, then you're in for a REAL surprise! This tour is very much like the new DVD that was relased of the stage production. It's very good. Have fun!

Saw them on Sunday, and you are in for a treat. Most of the same group was here last year - and I was more impressed this time. Eric Kunze is incredible. He's got this voice that shoots up into octaves I didn't think were possible (kind of a controlled rock-star belt), and he can shift into this quiet, delicate vocal style that is so eerily powerful. His acting is so moving, and he has amazing chemistry with Natalie Torro....that type of chemistry that can't be forced - it's just there or it isn't. And for them? It's definitely there.

Natalie is very good as 'Mary' - beautiful voice. The man playing 'Judas' (don't have my playbill handy) has an outstanding voice. What power and control. I saw him last year when he was filling in for Carl Anderson (who was ill) and he has come such a long way with this role.

Todd Fornier (Simon) was strong and I enjoyed his song.

Lawson Skala is 'Caiaphas', and believe me when I say he's the creepiest thing to ever hit the stage. You want to just bow down to that guy - and I didn't know a human voice could register in that low of a key re: JCS tour? He commands the stage when he's on.

Please let me know what you think of it - hopefully you'll be as happy with them as I was.....

I concur with Becky. Eric Kunze and Natalie Toro are great. They've got hot chemistry together, and they can sing the hell outta those songs! (Eric's Gesthemane -sp?- is tight.)

I saw the show 3 times when it was in San Francisco and thought the cast did a fantastic job, well w/the exception of Natalie Nucci (sp?) who went on for Toro one of the times I saw the show. Left very much to be desired....

I hope it comes this way again soon w/Eric Kunze still in the role....he's dreamy!!
