re: JERSEY BOYS - VEGAS Open Calls

I could see them cutting "My Boyfriend's Back," because although it'd suck for the women in the cast, it wouldn't really hurt the flow of the story. If "Dawn" weren't the logo, that could go, too. re: JERSEY BOYS - VEGAS Open Calls

I wonder if "shorter" means 90 minutes or just plain...shorter.

re: JERSEY BOYS - VEGAS Open Calls

I hope they keep it the same as all three casts have performed it.....

Rick Elice, Marshall Brickman, Bob Gaudio, Frankie Valli and others were, I guess, still trying to work the length of the Vegas play out with other creative staff. It would be nice if they can keep it just the way it is. "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it".....

I see nothing that needs to be altered, but considering the way theatres and showrooms in Las Vegas are, there would be really no "limited view" seating. Everyone will have at least 95% to 100% views of the set and cast.

I can't wait!
I've never heard of this new casino/hotel, though. Where's it going? Is it replacing anything?

re: JERSEY BOYS - VEGAS Open Calls

I wonder if they are gonna have a new staging/new set design. The industrial look work but kinda bland :P

..and since it's Vegas...it's supposed to be "Grand", so I wonder how they are gonna make the show over-the-top in all aspects :P

If they keep the Great American Wetdream part....maybe they would use real cars!

and use a turntable ala Les Miz!

Guess finding the Vegas cast members before the official announcement is harder then it was finding the SF/Chicago cast.

The Palazzo is a huge behemoth of a hotel going up next to the Venetian

It looks like a huge office building

This is one Broadway show that's gonna do phenomenal in Las Vegas. It's the next Mamma Mia!

re: JERSEY BOYS - VEGAS Open Calls

It sure will be a huge opening when it occurs! If they hold tech rehearsals in SF, as the blogs and message boards are announcing, then it would be nice to watch the show while they perform in their street clothes just as the Sherry Cast did in New Haven, Connecticut.

At least Tommy DeVito will not have to travel far to watch the Las Vegas premiere of Jersey Boys, since that's his adopted hometown. I'm definitely saving up my Venetian VIP points for Jersey Boys tickets!
