I saw Wicked last night for the first time and loved it so much!! I was sad that I never got to see Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda but Jennifer was amazing!! Her rendition of Popular was hysterical.
At my performance she was really hyper and was dancing and jumping around a lot. After her first attempt to transform Elphaba's 'simple frock', Galinda was like.."well it doesn't work if you're touching it!" and she made Idina move her hands away from her dress and put her arms straight out before she tried again. Idina was trying so hard not to burst out laughing.
At the end Jennifer talked to herself in the mirror as her bed was going off. I loved how she stayed in character even as she was moving off stage.
I've heard about a lot of different ways that she's done it, and I was wondering what all of you out there have seen.
I love the way they both did it!
I miss how KC would shine the mirror into the audience ~ I loved that!
:)
(Did I ever mention that I love her? No...? Ok, I love her!)
That sounds like a good one Cathy! When I saw it, she did a couple of funny hair flicks like the "Micro-Flip." She flipped her hair a couple of times, and then said "Now I will show you the Micro Flip--Did you see it?" And Elphie says NO, and she says "Exactly..."
She's wonderful

she sorta did something similar to that when I saw it, she tossed her hair so fast and said, "you can't see it, you can't see it" as she shook her head really fast.

when i saw it she said" not say it without saying flip" and idina accidentally said flip, and jlt said " i told you not to say flip"!!!
I can't wait to see her in Wicked. She's awesome.

When I went, she did the whole, "OK now don't use your hands...now don't say 'Toss toss'..." and then as she kept tossing her hair she kept saying, "Subtle, subtle, subtle..." and toning it down more and more; it was really funny.
JLT's Popular is the single greatest thing ever... she is fabulous. She has done such a great job with that role...
I honestly thought my Wicked craziness would fade away once Idina left, but JLT has become one of my favs. and I hope she stays longer than April!

JLT was great when I saw her. It was still somewhat early in her run (beginning of September), so she hadn't developed all of her gags for Popular, but she did a "ta, tas" thing, then got upset when Idina said "toss, toss". Also, whenever she passed the mirror in the scene, she'd stop to admire herself. Quite humorous lol
BUMP (for ElphieZ b/c I'm in a good mood, and the new Broadway.com site is U-G-L-Y ugle...)

hey thanks LittleFish! I LOVED JLT. I have to say that I think I like JLT more in the role because of her added humor and such. I still love Cheno, but I was surprised to see a video of her performing popular and that she didn't do as much during the song as I saw JLT. She has DEFINITELY won me over! :)

Andy, that's what JLT did when I saw it last night for the first time! She was soooo amazingly outrageously funny and cool!
Btw, in "Popular", I thought it soooooooo funny when she jumped with her feet sideways like 10 times throughout the song, as well as random moments in it. She was also hilarious when she was leaping around and twirling throughout it. I duno how Kristin did it, but JLT made me laugh so much, and was so super sweet later on... totally inspired me!
I would LOVE to see JLT as Glinda. I have heard NOTHING but wonderful things. She's such a beautiful performer.
JLT was so funny from start to finish. The last time I went, she said the "I know" part in a dramatic whisper instead of singing it and the audience was laughing hysterically.
