I thought Joey was about as good as one can be as Fiyero. He's IONS better than the terrible David Ayers.
I'm gonna guess he was auditioning for Mark. I bet he could do it.

I completely agree about the Wicked thing. God, how many times have I have seen girls at the DRS tell Norbert how great he was in Wicked. I just want to slap them and do the right thing and give them CDs of Last Five Years, Thou Shalt Not, and DRS. Or poor Idina being surrounded by teenage girls who just loved her as Elphaba. I want to see her in SWIWTS, not Elphaba thank you. In truth, the Wicked OBC may suffer the Seinfeld typecast curse actually ><
As for Joey, I disliked his Fiyero very much. However, hes a great actor and if he has the range, he could be good in Rent. I'd leave that to the casting directors.

Posted: 11/5/05 at 1:14amJoe came from a background of theater prior to his run as a pop star. How many legitimate shows will he have to be in before people stop throwing the stunt casting phrase around? Hasn't he proven himself? He held his own in ttb and wicked as well as many other theater credits. rent would be lucky to have him. He's talented and dedicated to the theater and has the voice to back it up. "Stunt casting" gets thrown around way too often these days and is used incorrectly in a lot of cases. Joe getting cast in a musical is far from stunt casting.

Posted: 11/5/05 at 1:14amThe funny thing about Norbert and DRS/Wicked is that according to some interview he gave awhile back, his own children could care less about his Tony for DRS, they're upset he left Wicked. I wish I could remember where that article was from, because it's quite funny, as I think he was being serious.
